Our History

Goodwin Electronics has changed a lot over the years since its founding in 1978. Here are just a few of the highlights:

  • 1978 – The company is founded predominantly as a supplier of Baumer brand sensors. It is based at the Pool Hall industrial estate in Ellesmere Port.
  • 1995 – Goodwin Electronics is purchased by Jones & Shipman, a tool manufacturer who specialises in precision grinding machines. Shortly after this in 1996 the company moved to Bassendale Road, Bromborough.
  • 1999 – Jones & Shipman is bought by the Renold Group a large mechanical parts manufacturer.
  • 2003 – Goodwin Electronics is sold by Renold and purchased by John Owen. At the same time the company moves to it’s current address on the Croft Business Park, still in Bromborough.
